I'm planning on getting The enabler soon. Do you guys think this amp is powerful enough to drive Sennheiser HD650's? Or should I stick with my headphone tube amp? Do you guys think the load from the headphone out of the enabler to my tube headphone amp have any bad affects?

Gonna ditch the Pandora for the Enabler since I've been slowly building a pedal board. Gonna get a Wonderlove next when they are released again ;)

I don't think the headphone out into your headphone amp would be a good idea unless is designed to handle that. Just do line out from the Enabler into the headphone amp. Also no idea about your particular headphones, but I'm using Bose headphones and it sounds pretty good.

I think I read Spencer say that you can only use aux in combination with headphone out and that is a feature I would like to use.

The HD650's are kinda hard to drive headphones. That's why I have a separate amp. Otherwise I would just use the PX5D to drive them. Good thing about the PX5D is you can choose line out from the headphone jack.

So the question now does the Enabler use passive ground?

I don't know what "passive ground" is. I haven't tried the Enabler with any headphones as high impedance as the HD650's, but it will certainly drive them way better than the Pandora can. You'll still probably get more volume with that tube amp you're using, but the Enabler will sound fantastic.

Yeah I can wait till the new Wonderlove comes out. Can't beat 10 buck international shipping though. Most places I've seen your stuff charges at least 30. Plus I'm trying to sell off another portable amp and AKG K701's to fund the Enabler. Hopefully I can make enough. The amp alone was 400 bucks, but I'm trying to at least get half. Same with headphones :(

By the way I remember you saying that you couldn't stick a 9 volt battery in the enabler because they wouldn't last. Here's the headphone amp I'm trying to sell..

Pricey, but it can drive my HD650's and K701's for a couple of days with a regular 9volt battery. Just giving you ideas on the next version ;)

Interesting. I wonder what type of headphone amp chip it uses. Can you plug a bass into it?

I've looked at (and tried) several different headphone amp circuits, but most of them could drive a bass sufficiently. Amplifying a bass to a useful volume is a lot harder than general program material.

Like most of my dealers, I'm out of Wonderloves! :(
