Alright gentlemen, I come to you for another bit of information. I'm pretty much set on an Enabler at this point. Its features sound AMAZING, and I hear nothing but glowing reviews. Here's the question: Does it/can it sound GK-ish? What I mean is, if I'm just using this as a DI without an amp or as a headphone amp, can I get a sound similar to my GK 700RB-II tone? I find that to be an integral part of my sound, and don't want to lose that! Never noticed how much of a difference it made til last night when I recorded straight from my board, then thru the DI on my 400RB-IV. MY sound is in the GK heads. What do you say? Can it do that?

Can the Enabler sound like your G-K?

You can probably dial in SOME of those EQ attributes you like about your Gallien...but by and large the Enabler isn't going to change the flavor of your bass all that much. There are a lot of pedal style preamp boxes that all have their own flavors, and the Enabler is pretty mild in terms of the change it imparts. Your bass will sound like a bigger, fatter version of itself, but without the changes imparted by an amp with a signature sound.

I've been using both the TAFM and the Doom and I can't decide which I like better...the TAFM is great because you can hit the gate button and have nice synthy fuzz on demand and keep it set to subtle when in normal mode, but the Doom sounds awesome and is super easy to go subtle with, and can get nice and synthy, although you have to knob fiddle to switch between them. Maybe I should just keep them both...

I agree... the Doom's top layer fizz is more articulate than your average fuzz in terms of holding the noticeable difference between notes.

Hi,
Got my Proton just in time for Christmas! :hyper:

I don't have many pedals, just what you see here and not much experience. And I was wondering if anyone else was running a proton with duality and b7k, and if so, where did you put the proton?

I have M87 > Duality > B7K > Proton and when all 4 are lit up it's so freaky good, but i'd like to hear what others are doing.

BTW, When I got it I was sure I'd have to play a lot with it before I found a sound that I liked, but no. Took out the leaflet, played a bit with buttons and boom! love the sound. Played a bit more bam! love that sound too! That thing is full of win.

Edit: The leaflet says you can use 18v on the thing, what would it change? I currently have it's power chained from the tuner. I figure the tuner's off when I'm using it...
