Fav settings for the Proton?

I have a Micro Tron III and Groove Regulator and thus far prefer those over the Proton. I feel like I’m missing something.

My go to is low range, up sweep, peak at noon, decay at noon, tone somewhere from noon down to 9 o'clock depending on the gig, and then I adjust the response knob for the bass I'm using until I get the right amount of action from the filter for what I'm doing. For my taste the response knob tends to end up pretty high. I like a fast-acting filter. When paired with my relatively low-to-mid output primary bass, it's commonly at 3 o'clock, and sometimes I have it fully cranked.

Probably not. Different strokespedals for different folks. Listen to your ears, not the internet.

Proton doesn’t even rank compared to GR1 and my fave GR2, or many other filters for my tastes & purposes.

Only category it wins is “smaller”, and I like the soft touch switch.

I have a Wonderlove Deluxe and also think that the Wonderlove is far easier to dial in as the Proton.

I preferred the GR2 over previous versions of the Proton, but not the Proton v4. I especially like the Range switch's deep sweep

Since we're throwing out opinions, I've owned the GR1, GR2, Wonderlove, Chromatron, Proton V2, and Proton V4. For my taste, the Proton V4 is far and away my favorite, with the Chromatron coming in second.

Ive owned a GR2, Wonderlove Deluxe, Chromatron, & Proton v4... my favorite is the Wonderlove Deluxe, its the most fun to play imo but I kept the Chromatron as well. The GR2 is awesome but its much more colored than the Wonderlove... the Chromatron is the most transparent... I didnt like the Proton much at all, I play passive basses & I couldn't really get it to quack.
