3leaf Audio Groove Regulator 2

Whew! Thanks for reminding me Time Consumer, there are many other less resonant, potentially non-modded GR1's out there. I'm not alone after all!
Still, I see the GR2 in my near future.

I do own USA Lakland Bob Glaub (jazz neck) #02 though.......sorry no trades :-)

Hey Spencer, effects loop noob question:

When the GR2 is in buffered bypass mode, the effects loop is active when the GR2 isn't on... That means if I were to put, say, an overdrive in the effects loop, I could still use the overdrive independently when the GR2 isn't on?

5sg.

That's how it works. In buffered bypass mode, the effects loop is never removed from the signal chain, even if the envelope filter is bypassed.

 Dude, that's a pretty sweet feature! I've always thought about putting an overdrive in the loop of a couple different envelope filters, but they've never been able to operate independently. Bypass the filter, bypass the overdrive too.

Spencer, you RAWK!

I had been getting requests for a mod like this forever. I didn't think it was possible until someone on the forum pointed out that it can be done if the pedal's not true bypass. Genius!

My GR1 is amazing and I wasn't impressed with the EHX Enigma at all. The EHX was really overdone and very wet sounding for my taste, not nearly as musical as the GR1. I had both in my hands and in 5 minutes I knew I would sell the EHX the next day.

Spencer was also a great guy to chat with through email.

Now I wonder if I should sell the GR1 and buy the GR2. It's hard to part with something you know you like.

Yeah, the GR1 I bought replaced a few other filters on my board; it was easily the best thing I'd tried.

I ultimately replaced it with a GR2 for one main reason: the buffered FX loop. Now I can put distortion pedals in the loop (gives a great synth sound) without losing 'normal' use of the dirt pedals. For me, it was totally worth it; it gives me sounds I could never achieve another way with my pedals of choice.
