4 ohm 112 combos or small cabs?

I'm looking for a small and solid 4 ohm grab-n-go combo or cab. I really dig the Markbass CMD121P but I don't think that comes in a 4 ohm version. My big rig is a Bergantino AE410 and Markbass F500 and I love that sound in a significantly smaller package that I can carry with one hand.

*I do know about the Audio Kenesis Thunderchild

**Does anyone know the impedance of the Markbass Combo 121 LITE?

Mesa WA Scouts come in 8 & 4 ohm versions.
Imo the 8 ohm is the best to get, as the 1x12"driver in the Scout cab, can only handle about 160w so feeding it the full 300w of the WA head is not really feasible- w/out the driver flabbing out.
AFAIK all MB combos are 8 ohm, but, again, giving even 2x10"s more than 300w is pointless imo.

4 ohms in a 112 combo is a waste unless it's a little budget combo that isn't meant to be expanded on. No way I'd get one, especially with a fairly high powered amp attached.

As a former 15+L (4 ohm) owner I think that's a pretty good suggestion. About as small and light as any 12" you will find and loud as heck. KJung started a whole thread on it, so there's plenty of info. Ken characterized it as the best "super 12" on the market, if I remember correctly.

Try a GK MB112. Rated at 200 watts and based on the MB200 it must have a 4Ω 12 in there. Its the ultimate grab n go rehearsal amp. I have another rig for high volume gigs but the little fella is getting more and more gig action as I feel comfortable with its capabilities.

I have a bad back, and during load-in and load-out, most giggable combos leave my load unbalanced- 40lb or more on the amp side, and less than 20lb on the bass side. I don't like fooling around with dollies, especially during our long, wet snow season.

Because I don't use effects on the gig, I don't have a ton of stuff in my bass case. Since I'm already light on that side, I prefer to put a micro head in a shoulder bag (or in the string pouch if I'm using a gig bag), and carry it in on the same side as my bass.

Combined with a potent, lightweight 4-ohm cab (like the Thunderchild I currently have on order), this makes for a more balanced carry.

Feh... I owned one too. Got rid of it asap. It is loud but so is a jack hammer.

It doesn't sound like bass. All the bottom is missing. But then again, if loud and cheap(ly made) is what you are after, Schroeder is your brand.

I agree that if you're looking for a full, rich, deep bottom other cabs do it better. But I did find that it did go low in a focused and even way that is similar to the way it reproduces the entire range. I had no issue with the quality.

I'm not a fan of the Schroeder tone in general and this is really the only Schroeder cab that I like. I also believe that the head you use helps or hurts a lot. A warm sounding head helps to smooth out the tightness.

If Kwesi is really interested he should look at the 15+L megathread for more diverse opinions.

Eh...save your money and get a Carvin 15. It costs much less and doesn't pretend to be something it is not at a premium price....oh yeah, and it is made in America.

Since you already have an F500, why even consider a combo, esp since you like the sound of the 500??? Just get an 8 Ohm, small cab. No need to get 4 Ohms with that head-a total waste unless you get a small, light cab that truly uses 500 watts. There are not many of those (I'm only aware of the TC112). IME the Schro don't go low. I'd get the TC112 if you have the bread.

Mostly because I like the idea of not having to give anything a second thought and just running out of my house with bass and combo in hand. I'm cool with either so long as I can get the sound I'm looking for.

The RS112 looks it could do the job and the price is right. I don't really need to get st00pid loud with it, I just want to have the flexibility and not have those extra watts go to waste. Again, the idea is just something I can grab and run with instead of taking my AE410 everywhere. It's light and I love the sound but If I'm at small jam I don't need that kind of power.

EDIT: Looks like the RS112 is actually 8 ohms It'd be nice if there was a local one that I could have a go at.

It's 300 watts. I have a 4 ohm one as an extension cab for my Roland CB 100. The cab (Eden EX112) sounds great, at least for that.
