4 ohm cab?

Hi

I'm looking to get a 4 ohm cab (1 cab for portabillity reasons)...

requirements:
no 8x10 (too big and heavy)
no tweeter (or adjustable/switchable)
no 15"

Well basically a 4x10, a 6x10 or a mixture of 12"s and 10"s. It has to be able to carry at least 600 watts.
I play an active bass with a pick over an Ashdown mag300H in a trashmetal band. Price is not really an issue as I don't need it right away and have some time to save up for it.
Any recommendations?

Hi to everyone! (my first post)

Try EBS!
NEO 4x10s are really powerful (1000W RMS), great sounding, and I think it's cheaper than Eden.
Fully adjustable tweeter.
About 27Kgs I think...

(I use a -not NEO- 2x10, and it can really put out about 300W with a four-string. I like it.:hyper: )

No 15" because with my current 4x10 I don't feel I'm missing any lows.
No tweeter because I read somewhere that it makes your sound 'clangy' if you play an active bass with a pick and that it doesn't sound good with distortion. And I'm willing to believe that since I like the sound of my perfect ten better than that of my mag + 4x10 with tweeter (with and without distortion). Tell me if this is all wrong...;)

EDIT: I've heard there are cabinets of which the tweeter can be turned of with a switch... which are they? Are they any good?

Aguilar GS 410. It has a tweeter but you can turn it off via the knob in the back. Decide for YOURSELF whether it makes your tone "clangy". If you think it does, just turn it off. If you like it, turn it up just a little bit. Why would you want to limit your options because of other people's opinions that might differ from your own tastes?

Most cabs with tweeters run the woofers fullrange, so with the tweeter attenuated the cab sounds identical to the same cab without a tweeter. However, cabs that are designed from the start to not have a tweeter tend to have woofers with better upper midrange and low treble response.

It seems like the NV610 is the obvious choice for so many people! I wonder if Jim might license out the design if he decides to completely cease production?

maybe that is what I've experienced... but I'm positive a couple cabs I've demoed in the past has true crossovers.

Obvious... that is why I posted it earlier. I thought the NV610 was to remain at least as a special order cab?

maybe you can try a hevos powerset
it's a 2x10 with tweeter and a 2x10 without tweeter.
You can stick with just the 2x10 without tweeter if you sure you don't want a tweeter. It's a Dutch brand and can be tested in the neighbourhood of Eindhoven. Both cabs are available in 4 Ohm and 8 Ohm and are rated at 800 watt AES.
They are not heavy, only 22 kg en 20 kg.
