I'd love to try that Marcus Miller GoLight sealed 4x10 myself. I'm looking for something like my NV610 in smaller, lighter package for smaller gigs. Don't know if the SWR could get a similar sound to the NV610, but I'd be interested to try one with my tube head.

The Guru's around here have confirmed it is due to a legitimate Dual voice Coil, but may have some sensitivity tradeoffs.
I only knew of the switchable 1x12 however if they have transferred the technology it should suit your purpose.
Also, a noted ampeg 8x10 lover has voiced some great opinions on the Hydrive cabinets as well.


oops to quick to the punch... but the Hydrive is an 8 ohm sealed cab. it may work with teh 2 ohm trick, check with Larry Hartke.

You could rewire a 410he to 2 ohms. Assuming the stock speakers are 8 ohm.

But they probably aren't since the 8x10 uses 32 ohm drivers all in parrallel, it seems they probably did the same.

Does anyone ever load bass drivers into the sealed Avatar 4 x 10 guitar cabs? I've always wanted to try this, but people keep telling me it's a bad idea. I figure I would lose lows, but that's how the SVT 810s work, right?

I got a b2-re as my first bass head. I wanted to get the full load since it is very quiet at 8ohm so at my local music shop I bought a peavey 410 cab that was 4ohm ... not the place i bought it but here it is:

The good news is it made the b2-re much more usable and has great low end... the bad news I could barely fit it in my honda accord 4 door! It is a giant 410 cab.. but then again I don't have experience with such things.

I paid around 350$ new for it.

*Oh wait... "sealed" not sure what that means exactly.. this one is front ported which doesn't sound "sealed" to me.*

Try looking at Avitar. I have a 410 4 ohm that handles 1000 watts I love this cab
