4 string bass with 5 string spacing?

Hello
Is there any mass production 4 string bass that has the string spacing of a 5 string bass?
I mean 38mm nut, 16-17mm at the bridge but the strings are closer together all the way up the fibgerboard than in a "standard" 4 string. Do not know if i made myself clear.
Maybe the Hofner violín?
Thanks

Yes, a lot of ‘60’s basses had spacing smaller than Fender. Gibson, Guild, Framus, Hofner, Vox, Danelectro, multiple Japanese copies, and more. Many are still for sale today. I can’t say I know the exact spacing, and it varies a lot, but they’re out there.
