Thick strings will take you easily to Drop C land without the need for a 35" bass. I did a BEAD on a 34" yamaha bass just by going with Dunlop droptune-specific strings (.120 4th string I think?). Dunlop I think no longer makes those strings but other manufacturers do (DR DDTs for example).

And no one's suggested the LTD F-series yet? Those are 4-strings with 35" scale necks.

The real problem is that i jump around between tunings like crazy, for example when i play 2 hrs on my electric guitar i tune several times between drop c ,d halfstep and standard. On guitar, thats ok, but my bass is not happy when i tune more than 2 halfsteps away from the intonated tuning. So i really think i need a second bass

A second bass is a nice idea. I'm wondering though, what if you hold onto your funds for when something amazing pops up, be it a bass, an amp, or whatever? Investing in securities is a good opportunity right now, too.

In your position I'd be searching for a used Spector Rebop and slap on heavy DR Hi-Beams. Stay brutal!

Have you looked into buying an aluminum neck and retrofitting it to the body of your choice? Most are built to fit the standard 34” Fender heel. You could use the heaviest tension strings known to man & not have to worry about adjusting a truss rod at all (the neck is essentially it’s own truss rod.)
Of course, the nut would have to be filed for heavier string gauges, but that’s no biggie.
I’m thinking about snagging one for one of my Precisions for giggles. There’re a couple of builders over in the EU. The going price for one new or used is around $700-$900 USD.

Buy 2 harley benton PJ74 or MP4 models and keep one with regular strings and one with heavies
Only halfway joking! they're decent basses and two will cost you the same as one from the large brands.

Ah, yes, if you're jumping around between tunings a lot then a second bass is extremely helpful.

I keep my Spector 4 string tuned to drop C D standard. (C,G,C,F) If anything Strings are going to matter most when it comes to feel and sound. I'm currently liking the DR Nickle Low Riders 45-105, good feel for them in that tuning.
