So I was deciding what to do with this old Arbor I picked up for $40 on Craigslist awhile back. It was in pretty bad shape. So after sitting on it awhile it came to me. A Peter Steele Tribute Bass. I know its not the same make or model Peter used, which he had a few, but I thought what the hell. He would appreciate it. So in memory of the big bastard from Brookyln I got under way and just finished it today. It took me about a month to complete. I canned the old rusty pickups and pots and installed all new electronics. The body got stripped and repainted as well as the neck. Tossed the stock bridge which was a pot metal peice of junk and installed a new one. Etc, etc. I even custom made a real chain strap just like Mr. Steele's. It's not hard to wear at all. The green frets are done with a heavy duty vinyl tape which can take the string wear and doesn't alter the sound. I read Type O used this same stuff in the beginning when they spray their guitars. Anyway for a $40 bass with a little love I think it came out pretty good and is a riot to play. So rest in peace Peter...This one's for you!
