$40 Craigslist find gets makeover. Peter Steele content.

I'm speechless.........

That is soooo tasteful its not even funny. :bawl:

I am a huge fan of Pete. I didnt care for the Carnivore stuff at all. But Type O Negative (which is my blood type btw :hyper:) was just genius. Especially Bloody Kisses, October Rust, World Coming Down.

Cool side note story about Peter:

My singer Joe was in a band called Brand New Sin. They toured with everyone who's anyone back from 2002-2007-ish.
When they were in NYC recording their 3rd album with Joey Z from Life of Agony Peter calls Joey and says he's coming over to hang out. So everyone is hanging out and they ask Pete if he wants to sing a part on a tune. He says **** yeah. The guys are like, "what about Roadrunner"? Wont they get mad? In true Pete fashion he says "huh...? pffft......**** them! "
So Pete isnt credited but he's there. Check it out and listen for Pete. His part makes the song.

Ok how did I paint the tuners? They were completely disassembled and sanded with 400 grit sandpaper. Then using painters tape cut to the right width I slipped it through the gear of the tuning key and it's bracket. Then back through the other side. This completely covered the gear portion of the tuning key. This is where you do not want paint to get. Ok then on the peg gear I taped around the teeth of the gear to not allow paint in there either. The tape remains on these pieces through the whole process. When ready all parts get two coats of primer then two coats of paint and then two coats of Matte sealer. I let them dry 24hrs between steps. Remove tape and reassemble and add some nut sauce and away you go.

Thank you sir and very cool story. Good song too. Thanks for posting that:D

I wanted to thank you for posting this thread. Made me revisit Type O, haven't listened in 10yrs or so. Almost forgot how awesome they are/were.
That and I think I'm going to tape my frets on my P bass white :) White VM P with all black hardware and rosewood fretboard. I think the white tape will set it off, I always felt like there was something else I could do to it haha
Which brand/style of vinyl tape would you suggest? 3M?

(Pardon me while I hijack this thread)

I have a thing for making black & green basses too (though the one in the bottom pic came to me already completed)... there's another *O-* themed bass laying around the house somewhere that I don't have a picture of.

I guess my weakness for memory-lane colors is a mental deficiency from inhaling too much, uhhhh, diesel fumes (yeah, that's it, diesel fumes) from the Type O tourbus in the good ol' nights (can't say days because the daylight usually sucked; it was the nights we all lived for)...
