4003 Vs Jazz...

i've had 3-4 jazz basses over the years, and about 8-9 rick basses, and i tend to prefer the ricks for the sound, the feel is different but on either of these basses, going with the non-bound necks tends to make for a more playable (to me) instrument. for the ricks, the unbound body models are more comfortable, too. i currently have a japjazz copy that i love the feel of,but i think my v63 sounds so much better.

As I have a mim fenebder jazz(and play with MIJ, MIA, vintage jazzes at my job) and own a Rick, I say get the Rick. Both have a different growl so imo you should get your hands on both and try them.

Jazz bass won't kill you, Fender is everyone's friend... R/C has their own little discrete tone.. you either like it very much or dislike it.. it's not like a Jazz that most people can accept... In addition, the hand grip feeling is so different than a Jazz.. see which one you like better .. i always go for the feel first then sound, as they are both very nice basses..
