I think Al deserves a signature bass. He’s been very influential, whether you like his music or not. The bridge does look like an upgrade.
I love it. I would have to sell ALL my bass gear to buy one, but I love it.
Outside of the green inlays, I love everything about the 4003AC, this would fit me like a glove. Not a fan of the oven knobs but those are easily changed to my preferred vintage style knobs.
The more I look at these the more I want one. They would fit my playing style really well. And I really do like the look of the two bridge pickups on the bass. 
The oven knobs, green inlays and two pickup covers suck. But everything else about it is awesome

This guy (AC) has a pretty decent and long career, maybe in a different genre than the ones you are used to, or not in mainstream. Sleep it's a known band in the stoner rock genre.
However, even bass sounds great, I totally agree with you that the green inlays are disgusting

The guy has played rics for 25+ years and has been and is influential to many many bassists - many that bought a Ric because of him. Makes sense from Ric's perspective I'm sure. Plus its a cool af bass.

He's one of the reasons I took the Bass. I mean, I know his music is not for everyone, but he's a cool guy and a great musician.
I like the Bass, but I might have something else in mind for my own signature Ric in the future...

It's always great to hear about people being inspired to pick something up and sticking with it
I walked out of an OM concert a couple of years ago because it was just too loud for me. (Although I did make a rookie mistake of not bringing any earplugs, so that might've been on me.) However, I'd really like to give this bass a try; shame that it probably won't happen.
That bass looks and sounds fabulous IMO. If I were in the market for a Rick and had the scratch, I'd def pick one of these up.
I’ll admit I never heard of the guy, a pretty common response on TB, but it’s generally an older demographic here. He is a bit of a niche player in a niche genre, and this bass is optimized for one playing style, playing right up near the neck like AC does. I’ve given up trying to figure out why or when Ric does special runs. This one obviously a test bed for the new bridge and single trussrod, that’s positive anyway. The price tag is a bit ridiculous, but if you have the coin....
No need to apologise really. This bass has been discussed a lot already on here. A new thread just for "bwaaah I don't like the inlays" is wholly redundant.
