Yes they did...its called the 4004The real real question is will they incorporate some of the changes in the regular line? New bridge and single truss rod? Huge Sleep fan. If I had the dough I would own one of these.

And I know - if I have to google the name, there is no real music there...

I've also never heard of Al Cisneros (but that itself doesn't mean anything), and the green inlays are sacrilege IHMO.Supposedly, Ric has a new model. TA-DA!!! Never heard about guy. I had to go to google it. And I know - if I have to google the name, there is no real music there... Anyhow.
It's ugly with those green sharks. Plus, how many gazzilion of $$$ it's going to cost?

and... the new Rics... I don't care what they sound like, those triangle shaped pickups (I guess to match the inlays) look BRUTAL.
My son sees more bands play out than I do. He told me 5 stringers are everywhere now (at least in my neck of the woods), I didn't know that. I had falsely assumed 5'ers were a fringe or novelty item and the fad would pass. Seems like Ric will gear their production to where the demand is.I can't imagine they'd tool up for a new truss rod and new bridge and then make only 420 of them.
I'm sure the 4003AC is fine for what it is, but it's definitely a niche market. I wish Ric would put some effort into making something useful with a broader-based appeal. I love my 4003 instruments, but I'd really love to see a 4004 fretless. They don't have any fretless instruments in their lineup now, and the 4004 is supposedly on hiatus, perhaps permanently according to some reports. I'm not a five-string player, but I'm happy they've finally made a fiver that works (the only complaints I've read were aimed at aesthetics). Now maybe put some more work on the 4004 line (make a 4004/5 and a 4004 FL) and make enough of them so players can get their hands on one. I've read a lot of comments from people saying they'd love to try one, but have never seen one in a shop.

Have you seen @Aceonbass 5'er mod with his own pickguard design? Really cool!I've not yet felt a need for a fifth string, but if I did, I'd be all over the new Ric fiver. I even don't mind the aesthetics; it's got a sort of Jetsons vibe going on, or a hint back to boomerang-patterned Formica. And so far, in everything I've read, people are raving about the sound of the B string.

Given that heavily distorted tone, I’m not sure what the purpose of three pups is anyway, you can get it from almost bass with a dirt pedal.
What's the point of this thread? To criticize a bass you have never played, for an artist you've never heard of?
