4P3T, Am I thinking of this right?

So I'm modding a pedal.
Essentially, I'm wanting to change the cap on the input and the output from stock values to a higher value, and to a lower value.
As I see it:
2 caps= 4 leads, 3 positions (or options), therefore (here's the fuzzy logic): 4 pole, 3 throw, assuming the switch is on-on-on.

Only problem is, all the switches I've seen on mouser/digikey/etc have less than 16 lugs. So check my math/theory: 4 lugs for stock tone (1), 4 lugs for second tone, 4 lugs for 3rd tone, and 4 lugs for input/output to the original circuit.

Am I doing this wrong?
 
You only need to switch one side of each cap, not both.
So, the other ends of the caps all go to the same point (input/output respectively)? Not sure if I follow you on this.

With that being said, you need a 4PDT switch. Add two external jumper leads to make a DP3T switching pattern.
TOTALLY lost me. How does adding jumpers make a 2 position switch (double throw) into a 3 position switch? Or did I mistake what you are saying...

Yes, one lead from all three caps goes to the same point, the other lead from each cap gets switched.

DP3T switches are 4PDT On-On-On (Three position) switches with external jumpers.
