5-0-5??? Wassat?

At last night's gig someone made the remark "you can tell if the music students know anything by asking them what 5-0-5 is". Didn't have a chance to ask further before we kicked off. Does that mean anything to anyone here?

In other news, I'm just working Ray Brown's diminished scale exercises from his Bass Method book. Truly meaty stuff.

I would have told him "Na, you can tell if the music students know anything by asking them what the interval vector of an [0146] tetrachord is" and then counted off the first number before he had a chance to mop his exploded brain up off the floor.
