I started on EB, but have played DB a good deal as well. If I broadened it to include DB, Mingus is in there, and probably Ron Carter and / or Ray Brown. Not sure how I'd narrow it down to a top 5 with a mix of EB and DB, lol. Maybe this, still in order:
