5 String Fender Flats? Closest replacement?

So from what I've gathered, the Fender Flats no longer come in a 5 string. I've had a set on my jazz for almost a decade and I LOVE the sound and feel of the flats (and the fact that the silks almost match the finish is even better). But waiting for the day when one of the strings break or die, what am I going to do for a replacement? Would y'all say just get a 4 pack and then get a single low B that's close, or are there other flats that compare in tone and feel to the fenders?

Two options...

1. Ernie Ball Stainless Steel (NOT Cobalt) Flatwound 130B to be combined with the 4-string set of Fender 9050 of your choice.
2. Ernie Ball Stainless Steel Flatwound 5-string set, 45-65-80-100-130.

To be fair, I haven’t spent a lot of time with Fender flats, but when I did they reminded me of Chromes. My preference in flats is Dunlop… might be worth a try. Both should be available.

I do have a fair amount of experiences with both and find them quite different in their tonal characters. Just because they come from the same factory doesn't mean they're identical twins.

yeah I've tried chromes and they are different, not my fav. flat

+1 to what michael_t says above. That's what I have done. EB stainless flats are some of the most underrated strings on the market. I keep an EB 105 Stainless flat in reserve for when I lose a Fender flat E string.
