5 string P Bass pickup.

Hi.
I recently bought a Sire P5 five string which I absolutely love but I’d like upgrade the pickup to something a bit more modern, higher output & punchier sounding than the (perfectly adequate, just not scintillating) stock pickup.
I’m having trouble finding many aftermarket passive five string split coil P bass pickups at all.

Can anyone give me any recommendations please?

Sounds like you are describing a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder. They make a 5 string version.

The tone is not my personal preference, but is modern, high output, and punchy.

Yeah the NP5 is one of the few options along with the Seymour Duncan mentioned above I’ve been able to find.

I’m hoping this post will throw up some options I’ve not come across and/or some first hand recommendations for my specific tone preferences

Not a recommendation, but Bartolini, EMG, Delano, and Aguilar also make 5 string P pickups.

I should have left EMG off the list. I knew they made several and was misremembering the X series one as passive. I just double checked and the X Series market as “bridge the gap between passive and active pickups”, which I think is what caused my mental error.
