5 String with High C...

Who has them and do you find it a good addition to the arsenal?

Also what bands use the 5 string strung with a High C? I think it would be handy in a power trio to cover for the absence of a rhythm guitar during solos

I had a hi C fiver for a long time and always though it was a nice gap filler with only one guitarist. Chording can be alot fuller by adding the extra upper range.

Back when I was using 5ers I had 2 strung high C. They where really nice to have in the arsenal. The one artist that comes to mind right off the bat who plays a 5er like this is Matt Garrison. The dude is a beast of a bassist.

I tried that before I got a 6 strings bass. I liked the c string mostly for little chords here and there, solo and it makes reading a lot easier since you don't have to shift as much.

I use a B much more than a C.

I used to string a Bongo and a Modulus E-C but went back to B-G.

Having the low B and high C is really nice thats why I moved to a 6 string. Having that broad range works really well especially when working with a pianist.
