There are a stack of great bass players who use a 5'er with fingers.

Man, there have been some fantastic examples thrown out there, but I can't believe no one has mentioned Ryan Martinie from Mudvayne. That dude is a straight up BEAST! He's actually one of the reasons that I play bass today : )

Tommy Kennedy does slap (and very well) but just not a lot! Will Lee and Nathan East also slap. They are not strictly fingerstyle players.

I know, but I needed to put them anyway... or better, I didn't understood that I had to put "only fingerstyle" players... they slap but they have also a very distinctive fingerstyle..also Stubenhaus and Porcaro slapped alot during the eighties, but it seems to be just fingerstyle nowadays...
