'50s Precision reissue options

Trying to sell my Godin Shifter; in the market for a '50s style Precision. I am torn between getting a relatively new one at a discount or something like a 1990's model and I am torn because I don't mind older instruments with some "road wear" but I am wondering about whether I can be confident with the quality of an older model. Should I be concerned about a warped neck or anything of that nature? The new MIM reissues look great but I am leaning toward a made in USA model because I have never had an American-made bass.
