'51 Through '54 Let's See Some Photos

I'm gonna see if I can jumpstart this thread.
Here's a nice one:

Man, those are some wonderful guitars!
Is that the same guitar as the one in the photo of you playing?
How many of these do you still own?
And if you don't mind me asking, how would you compare these necks with a modern (~2012-2020) Precision neck?
Thanks for posting, it gives me something to lust after! :)

Excellent build.
I saw your build thread on this guitar. I love the color.
I have actually thought about putting one together.
Oh, and I wanted to add: thanks for posting the details on this build! This will help a ton if I do decide to build one.
There’s a guy on eBay (Rosser Guitars) that does bass bodies. His prices are a little less than Warmoth. Then you could get your neck from Warmoth, or get a J-Bass neck from Mighty Mite. Then order a headstock template online and cut it out like the old precision basses.
It’s a really fun build.

lA ayer of self adhesive wood vinyl was applied to each headstock when they were reshaped as I wasn't sure If I wanted stain the necks, I've decided to stick with the paler necks and so I created the decals using self adhesive clear vinyl. Now that I've decided on the designs when it comes to the next string change each bass will have the headstock sanded to remove the last signs of the HB logo, then will be re logo with these designs and lightly varnished

There is another one in the works which will be a homage to Leon Wilkeson of Lynyrd Skynyrd. (Aged White with black guard)

Beautiful basses. I love the Faker logo decal. I’m wanting to build one more, butterscotch with a black pickguard. Probably start in the Spring

I am determined to get a '51 or '54 eventually. Not sure what, which model or brand. I just haven't decided. I might even build one.
I sure would love to see some photos your 51 or 54.
Fender, Squier, Parts bass, whatever. Show them off!
Here are a couple of links that may help you. The Harley Benton PB50 might be your best bet. You’ll need to pay duties but since they show it at $115 (which is about what I paid for mine), the duties shouldn’t be much. My Harley Benton was near perfect and plays great.

Real deal 1953.
1953 neck on a '71 Telecaster Bass body
Sting bass but with a switched Fender MIJ neck. (Hated the 12th fret Sting marker!)
Early 90s MIJ '51 (original guard black, 2nd guard white)
Parts/build bass. (Dual coil neck and bridge p/u.)

Love the SCPBs!
