At the top of this week, I'm going to Kauai for my first vaca in seven years. Myself, my girlfriend, and my daughter. Can't wait. Need it bad.
So, from now until around July 8th, I'm going to be checking in sporadically. Meanwhile, an update:
M83 is mastered and delivered to Mute USA. The album is nothing short of spectacular and will blow minds once released in October. I'm incapable of anything resembling modesty with it. Heart, soul, blood, sweat and tears has been poured into this gorgeous monster of an album created over the past year that I do believe is my finest work/contribution to date. More hyperbole to follow as the release approaches...
Re-signed with my manager, Dangerbird. Good plans afoot for the remainder of '11...I love them.
Very pleased to say that I've also been in the studio of late with Garbage, a band (and group of friends) that I hold near and dear to my heart. They are firing on all cylinders with vigor and good humor, and their new material is bold and amazing.
Did some more work in LA and Nashville with Sara Bareilles, acting in the strictly MD role and helping her prepare for her new tour which I think will be quite something.
Other bits include recording sessions for the new season of Californication, Michelle Branch (new album produced by Neal Avron), helping out w/ Jesse from Eagles of Death Metal's new band Boots Electric (again, just MD work) and more bass playing on classic Muppety songs for the upcoming kick-ass Muppet Movie.
Have a bitchin' summer. Stay cool. Hope we have some classes together next year.

Taught my daughter how to swim, I flew an ultralight around the island, and otherwise sat around and read books, ate rad food, and sat on amazing beaches.
