6 String Fretless Acoustic Bass

wonder if I over-bought for my first ABG. I just ordered a Boulder Creek Fretless 5 in natural. I did quite abit of research on TB and other places about ABG's. BUt guess I shoulda at least gone to GC and played one first. Heck, I mighta found one there I liked.
Of course there are way more pricey one's out there, so I kinda went middle of the road price/feature wise. Been PM-ing with a TBer that just got a BC fretted 5er. He has his 4 string BC in classifieds here. He seems to like these basses pretty well. Just wish their fretless basses came with unlined fingerboards. Oh well, we'll see, should arrive next week. I did not buy a hardcase for it, so hope they pack well and it gets here in one piece.
Luckily, I chose a online store with a 30 day return and they pay return shipping, so I got that working for me.

First of all: love the Caddyshack. Ga-goonga, loonga to you as well.
Second: I think it all depends on what you plan to use your acoustic for. I bought mine for just noodling around the house and possibly playing at church a few times a year when we don't have a drummer and go acoustic. If I were buying an acoustic bass to gig with or use on a professional level, I might have looked around more.
That being said: I am STILL being impressed by how this bass sounds acoustically. I haven't amp'd it more than a few times but I am love, love, loving its acoustic tone. When I ordered this I watched tons on videos on Youtube and I know that it's hard to capture acoustic tone on Youtube, but there were few fretless acoustics that I actually dug the sound of. I am lovin' mine. Even everything on the low B string sounds sweet. I don't know if I just happened to get a gem out of this Chinese made bass and their QC is hit-or-miss, but I am seriously pleased with my purchase.
It's got MWAH like nobody's business, even with rounds! I almost went ahead and ordered flats for this baby before it even got here, but I'm glad I waited. I'm sure at some point it'll end up with flats on it, but the stock strings sound good enough to leave 'em on for a while!
No position markers but there is binding. I just went through with my tuner and put dots on where the fret would be.
Hey man I'm very very interested in this bass. Since its not like a major brand it's difficult to find info on it or videos. Could you possibly post some audio of it? I'd love to have a 6 string ABG like you wouldn't believe and this is pretty inexpensive!!
Unfortunately, I don't have a mic, so I wouldn't be able to get any of the acoustic tone. I think I have an interface somewhere.... I'll have to dig it up.
Good to know, and a good idea.
I would also love a recording. Even a crappy phone video, plugged and unplugged would be helpful.

Here's a quick video with my crappy laptop webcam and mic. Just acoustic. You might have to turn up your speakers a bit. Despite the crappy mic/webcam I think it actually gets the tone quite well.
Also, I'm still getting used to the unlined fretless, forgive the playing. I was just noodling, not playing anything in particular.

Woaa. For the price it's sounds REALLY good. Maybe i`ll search a 4 string fretted in the future.

I'll be using my soon to arrive Boulder Creek FL-5 mostly plugged in with band. This is in a new band with female vocalist, two spanish-strumming style guitaristas', they will be plugged in, and a special percussionist. Just congas for now.
But it will be a real plus if I can play the BC unplugged in smaller practices. Fretless 6er huh.....hmmm.

Seems like the hit or miss quality factor would be problem with this one. And it has too many strings for me.
Yes, that was unplugged. The sound projects quite well. I watched a number of videos on Youtube where it looked like the guys were having to pluck the strings super hard just to get any volume (acoustically). Made for a lot of clanging on the fretboard.
Yeah, I have no idea if I just scored bigtime or if Harmonia is the real deal as another option for low budget options.
