61 jazz bass relic

I have a 61 jazz bass custom shop relic. I am trying to find out more information about it. It was made in 2013.

It is has heavy checking on it. The picture attach does not do it justice.

I have search thoroughly on the web and I have not seen another like it.

I'd say that's almost certainly a re-finish. Only two places really do sparkle that looks like that.

Also ... did Fender ever offer a paint job like that in 61? (matching headstock) Maybe they did, I had a green sparkle jazzmaster guitar once and I don't quite remember but it seems like the headstock may have matched

Paint job seems way out of character for a '61 RI...
They also didn't use stacked knobs in 1961.

It looks pretty similar to this one sold on Rainbow Quality New & Vintage Music Gear.

Also, concentric stacked knobs were not replaced by the three knob arrangement until 62.

Don't know much about it, but that is one of the most Beautiful J-basses I've ever seen!

Are those latest pictures you posted of the same bass. The grain and texture of the sparkle seems much coarser in the first two pics you posted. Maybe the lighting but...

The last photos are smaller so the flake will seem different more refined and less coarse.

I'm pretty sure that a lot of 61's did have stacked knobs.

I have been looking all over for this bass. And you posted this the day before my birthday last year. I would love to buy it from you. Let me know if you decide to sell it.
