There is nothing like a vintage pre 1980 svt with 16 x 10s of thunderous tube power. You just need a road crew to move it. I have owned big hybrids , Preamps with big power amps,Ampeg,Fender, Shroeder,GK,SWR,Genz Benz, Peavey,Laney,SunnYamaha, EV, TC Electronics, PAS, Ibenez. Just naming a few. I've used 18's,15's'12's 10's, 2" compression drivers.
The SVT is still the best all around amp for a touring musician. Sadly I find myself compromising because of weight. That being said everyone loves what they have and can afford. The TC Electronics RH 750 has been the best lightweight I have come across I have yet to find a neo cab that sounds as good as a good old SWR or Eden cab. I would like another Shroeder cab.
PS: Ampeg 8 x 10s do not sound right without a SVT head. I own a 1979 SVT head which I almost sold because it just didn't sound right with the Cabinets I had 2 SWR Goliath 3. When I got the SVT cab the rig came to life. Sadly I am thinking of selling it because It is to much to carry by myself.
