Well, if cut on a jigsaw and not thoroughly sanded, they would have a bit of texture like that.

I'm not a collector. But my gut feeling is that there is a difference between, "...it's mostly original; the pick guard has been replaced."
And "...it's mostly original; the pick guard has been replaced, but with a real 1962 pg.
But is it a $900 difference? I doubt it.
