63 jazz? @ Goodwill

yep, it looks like the real thing to me, complete with brass grounding strap on the bridge. the neck may have been refinned (since it doesn't have a logo) but sometimes they get scratched off since in '63 the decal was on top of the finish. neck plate is also on uspide down, but that's no biggie.
man I hate crap like that , goodwill sells anything decent online now, its getting impossible to pickup a great deal. Like going into goodwill and seeing that for 200$ would make my year, who knows what the original owner thought of it.
Well after Goodwill's took a beating for years at giving away items they knew nothing about they rode the ebay craze and now can get top dollar out of donated items. I understand you and everybody wants a good deal but the money from Goodwill retail stores goes back into Job services, program and placement in the county's they serve. They need to drain every dollar to support those services...trust me.
Just think they did not know anything when they posted that bass, clueless. if you were an employee there you could have been like "this will be a cool project to repaint for my nephews first bass blah blah" and got it for who knows what 100$? or something.

I am not that butt hurt at goodwill, i just want a good deal but everyone does.
Anyways last week I bought 2 bikes at good will for 25$ an sold both for 120$ so I cant really complain about them.
Understood, I was just trying to say you have to understand this is a non-profit, charitable organization who works for the communities they are in. They need to get every dollar out of an item to support the mission. For them to let that bass or any other worth thousands go for a hundred bucks is foolish and was the "old way". Today they need those dollars and Shopgoodwill gets them.
What would a good price for this to sell at? i am not bidding its allready to high for me. 3,500$?

to maintain it's value. you don't repaint a bass like that. all it needs is a logo (can be obtained from fender) and remove the stickers from the back of the neck.
if everything is original on it, and it appears to be, i would estimate that bass's current value to be about $7-8K, maybe more.
from that one close up shot of the back of the body, i can't make out any router hump. shouldn't there be one?

yes there should be, and i think it does have it. it's finish is very worn in that area, but in one of the front view pics, it kinda looks like it has it.
Wow, it even has the special small pan-phillips control plate screws and corrosponding 61-63 control plate to further prove it's original.
