to maintain it's value. you don't repaint a bass like that. all it needs is a logo (can be obtained from fender) and remove the stickers from the back of the neck.
if everything is original on it, and it appears to be, i would estimate that bass's current value to be about $7-8K, maybe more.

i wonder what it's doing at goodwill? It seems as if someone's significant other was mad and donated a bunch of "stuff" to goodwill....
It's a GREAT buy. I was in up to the 3K level but got beaten out. Just didn't have more than that to spend. And basses like this are NEVER refinished, repainted, etc. You want the true road worn, tattered look to preserve the value. This is a GEM of a bass.
