We cannot do an OIL finish on them, we can do either the high gloss or a satin version of that (which is still very hard). The stuff is like cork in its raw state, you can literally take your thumbnail and make big scratches in it.
I finally got it out of the box and photographed! Slurp, she's a beauty!!
And, Ryan, I don't think you'll be disappointed with the tone at all. It's a great sounding fretless. I'll try my best to get a clip recorded at some point soon...

I was surprised at how quickly I deemed myself ready for public performance on my fretless. Have faith. It'll probably come a lot easier than you think.
This sucks. My bass is sitting in Fargo, about 3 miles away from me, since 3:30 this afternoon.
And I won't get it until 5 or 6 tomorrow afternoon.![]()
