65 Kustom 200 Head

I play through a 1965 Kustom 200 head and get this. The damn thing isnt grounded. I wasnt really worried about to much but at practice the other day i was playing with my shoes off and went to sing into the mic. Lets just say i breathed lightning.... I looked at the back and it looks like the previous owner modded it because theres a 3 outlet powerstrip on the back of the head and ive never seen that on a head before. Im a noob when it comes to wiring and stuff like that so im asking if you guys think it will be a easy fix or if i should take it somewhere to get a new wire on it. Will post pics later im at School right now and dont have my head with me >.<

68 sounds right, if i recall, the 200 was not a product in 1965...

could you post pictures of your amp?

You might want to take it to a tech and have it properly grounded.

This time it was a short between you and the mic... next time it could be worse.

And the job to have it done will be much cheaper regardless, than say, you being in the hospital for any amount of time... or worse.

Don't play around with electricity. :)

Heres pics of my beast. She is VERY punchy i love this thing. Which is why it saddens me that she tries to kill me. :/

I played for years through a Kustom 200 head and matching 2x15 cabinet. Just a 2 prong plug and you could switch the on switch left or right to I guess flip the power.

My band played my high school talent show. I walked up to the mic for backing vocals and a nice little arc of flaming death decided to bridge the gap between the mic and my lower lip. Not fun. I was a teenager and had no idea that an amp that wasn't properly grounded could be modified to be so.

Save yourself pain and potential death and get that sucker grounded. As a side benefit all the chics that are into bondage will dig you because of the tuck-n-roll.
