I need to understand more about those pickups. They seem to be SPLIT COIL (like Pbasses) but are enclosed... Are they HUMBUCKERS..? or Split Single Coil..? or something different. Thanks for your thoughts.
Calm down. It is not a 60 jazz bass. What's the question? That bass clearly needs to be rescued, and you're the one to do it. I assume the price reflects the damage done?
Not sure I'd go green... I'd probably go the restoration route with the nicest Fender custom color of the period. But either way, it found you and needs you. Do the right thing.
***? Left field comment 3 years later? I thought I was calm. Why are you trying to be a bully? Nevermind. I don't care.Calm down. It is not a 60 jazz bass.

They're a bass version of the Wide Range Humbucker Seth Lover designed for the Telecaster Custom and Deluxe guitars, which have the same sort of split polepiece look.
It's a hum-bucker designed by Seth Lover of '50s Gibson fame.
thanks - but WHY are the polepieces split in that manner...
thanks - I will research as to WHY the polepieces are split in that manner...
