73 SVT Blueline or Blackline?

Congrats man! I picked up a 1973 SVT blackline last month and it's fantastic!

I think I'm one of the weird people that likes the blackline look more than the blueline.

Actually it was Elkhart, IN.

Magnavox's sales office was in Elkhart. Ampeg production was in Jefferson City, TN, along with the TVs, 8-track players and whatever else Mother Maggie was building there. The R&D and service departments stayed in Linden even after the manufacturing plant was closed. In fact, some Ampeg magazine ads from the period spelled all of that out at the bottom of the page.

Been following along here. Congratulations man, you got the Gold Standard. Given the descriptions of condition, investment, etc., I think you picked the right one.

You definitely made the right choice- why pay that much more for an amp that needs more work, etc?

FWIW I have a blue-line with stock 6550s, Magnavox on the label, no front badge. I guess it's one of the last blue-line iterations before the black-lines.
