78 Fretless P Bass

Hey all-



I've got a shot a buying a 1978 Fretless P. The guy said it
it's a 8.5 out of 10. A) does anyone know apprx. what this thing could be worth? and B) What should I lookout for? I'm not that savy when it comes to Vintage basses.

I'm not an expert on older gear, but I'd pay $350-$420 for it myself. If it was flawless, maybe a bit more.

Oh, and things to look out for: modifications (like that ebay bass) bring the value down, unless of course you like new pickups and more holes in your basses.

Hey Poseur-

Nope, something I saw on another sight. They guy was first asking 1200, then the next week 1000, then 800. He seemed desperate, so I offered him 500 and he said come look at it.

I just don't really now all that much about old Fenders. Thanks, though
