80s Warwick Identification

Picked up this project Warwick bass and can’t seem to find any information about it or pictures of similar models anywhere online. The pickup and bridge look unique to my untrained eye. I have not taken off the neck to see if there are any marking in neck slot area. Any information would be appreciated including value.

Also was wondering its collectibility before I make decisions on how to move forward on it. Not sure if it’s bad form or standard to refinish wood, cleanup or replace the bridge, etc. It definitely needs a replacement pick guard as it is held together by tape.

Following the design evolution of Warwick from Framus its difficult for me to see where this fits in.

Not a Warwick, just some generic import from gawd knows when.

Looks like a lawsuit era Matsumoku offering, probably mid-70's.

'75 or earlier given the pickup. There have been threads about later basses with that W logo. I'm guessing it was probably produced for a regional distributor or a music store chain.

Very similar instrument here, but unbranded. Definitely not a Warwick:

Possibly Korean rather than Japanese based on some observations of similar instruments here, though that humbucker looks like those found on many Japanese basses from the 1960s and 1970s:

Very helpful, thanks, and I do see the resemblance on pickup. Glad I posted because I got such great information in a very quick manner (compared to all my random internet searches and paging through various talkbass threads), but next time probably may not venture a guess in thread name.

That’s because it doesn’t, the bass has absolutely nothing to do with Warwick, other than the first letter of the word.
