9 oz, $55

OK, here's is an opinion question for those of us who assembly bass guitars from parts.

I am considering buying a Warmoth P Bass body in a particular color. Warmoth has one of them in their Screaming Deals section for $250 and it weighs 5 lbs 3 oz which will equate to about a 9 lbs and 1 oz to 5 oz complete bass.

Warmoth also has the same thing in their Show In Stock section for $305 and it weighs 4 lbs 10 oz which should equal about an 8 lbs and 8 oz bass (more or less).

The question. Would you pay $55 extra for 9 oz less on a Warmoth P Bass body?

If you have medical issues or something else that causes 7oz to be worth $55 then yes. People spend more to save less weight on hardware.

On that wintery late night after a long hard week, I'd curse myself for not spending a mere $55 to ease the burden of that stupid heavy bass. If I play that bass for 55 gigs, it's a buck a gig for less stress.

You bet I would. 9 pounds is my "No go" number. I'll only consider basses under that weight.

I know how much difference 9 ounces makes in buying a laptop. It matters even more in a bass.
