Wait--traded away a SR5HH, or a G&L with MFDs? Or, more than likely, both?

The main reason I had one & traded it away.
The Sterling 5 will make its debut at the Summer NAMM, along with the 6 String Bongo.
And, you have to be a Tom Waits fan....
The G&L bit the dust...so to speak.Wait--traded away a SR5HH, or a G&L with MFDs? Or, more than likely, both?![]()
Wassa problem, Bart? I'm in the same boat. I see it this way. The Dargies (mine's a SR5 HH too) will deliver in, say, February or March. Gotta pay when they deliver, right? Right.
Order window on the 20th SR5 will open, I think, at NAMM in January. If the Bongo introduction in 2003 was instructive, the 20ths won't deliver until the end of summer, maybe fall, perhaps as late as November (that was the case with the Bongo).
So we have all summer to mow yards, rake leaves, deliver newspapers - it's okay!

Any sneak peeks at that Bongo 6? I damn well might buy one.
Let's see...the MM doesn't have the butt-ugly headstock point, the ugly bridge or the mini-switches. Its neck pickup is a real neck pickup, not in the middle like G&L. And most important of all, it doesn't have those godawful sounding MFD pickups.
G&L only wishes it could sound, look and play like a MM.
Tinfoil hats in the shower? Nice!
I gotta say, I thought I was done buying basses...
But the pup positioning on this is perfect for me, and is indeed much different than a 2500L. And big alnico 'bukcers?
That'll do me just fine, thanks!
How does one order one of these? Where?

My question is:
Are they (EBMM) ever going to make the Alnico 5-string pickups available for swapping them for the ceramic ones in a regular 5-string HH 'ray?
If not, I may end up having to sell my 'ray, and I haven't even gotten it yet . . .![]()
I'm going to go out on a limb, and say, "no." But, with the Sterling 5 coming at Summer NAMM, and the way they did the horns on the 20th Anniversary, you never know what they're going to do.
But, I think replacement pickups from ceramic to alnico isn't going to happen simply because they don't sell replacement parts like that.
