Yes LS2 is great but all those jacks on one side. What a PITA! Other than that great pedal

I’m in the middle of building guitar and bass boards so my guitarist and I can switch off on new material. So far, I have an LS2 on the guitar board for switching between acoustic and electric guitars. The input jacks all on one side work for me, because the pedal is first in line.

I have a BOSS AB-2 in transit for the bass board. He has an active bass so it’ll be easier to match levels between instruments, even though the pedal doesn’t have a volume control.

I’m using Bypass>A mode right now. Electrics go in bypass, acoustics in A. I’ll put a BOSS AD-2 in the A loop. Then it’s just mono bypass out to the same amp. But this is the first iteration, and I’m sure things will change.

I needed the same thing and got a Radial BigShot I/O. Works great!

Actually that radial looks like a great option. The LS2 is more versatile, but the radial is tidy and incorporates a mute and tuner out. Good suggestion @mmbongo

Easiest solution so far. The LS2, definitely more versatile. Both in the same price ballpark. Decisions, decisions. All I need it for is swapping between an electric and an acoustic, for now. The LS2 I could run three though. 2 electrics, with one tuned half a step down, and then the acoustic. Or I could grab a DigiTech Drop Polyphonic Drop Tune Pitch-Shift Pedal, which I have heard are great for a few steps down, then they start to not be so great.

Another vote for the LS-2. If you don't need buffering and also want a tuner, try to find a Korg Pitchblack +.

I use the Morley Twin Mix for this purpose, though mostly for sending two different instruments (usually a guitar or Rhodes to one amp and a bass/synth to another) to different amps with level control. It can send both channels to a single amp too though.

They also make the more basic ABY Mix pedal, though the volumes there may be passive? I prefer a buffered volume on things like this to retain top-end. The Twin Mix actually has a significant amount of boost available on both channels.

The Morley pedals do take up a bit of floor-space though

I also use this one to match levels between fretless and fretted bass and switch between them seamlessly. It has a 3-position high contour on channel two, a dedicated tuner out and a mute switch.

Also works without any power at all but you'll lose the LED indicators. Built like a tank too - it's basically the lesser-equipped version of the Bassbone.

I formerly used the Sansamp VT Deluxe but found that it colored the sound of my L2500 way too much, even with all controls flat, so I ditched it for the Radial.

I have one of those and just recently began to wonder about using it for just this purpose. I'll have to give it a try. Have you noticed any drawbacks?

No drawbacks. Just set the volumes as equally as I can with the FOH guy pre-show and leave them be. Have actually used 3 basses together this way.

Looking for an A/B pedal for running two basses into one amp. But I need one that has level controls. Anyone out there make such a thing?

The idea is to run two basses with their volumes dimed out. Set the level control for A and for B to where both basses are putting out the same volume levels. This way all I have to do is sit one bass down, grab the other bass, and hit the A/B switch so I can change out basses on the fly between songs.

Behringer AB100 is cheap and does exactly what you want.
