I used to always go for bigger basses. I'm 6 foot and 230 or so. A little on the big side of average? But I picked up a Sterling last year and love the way that small bass handles. The neck is great and the smaller body makes it easier to shift it around when I am running around on the neck.
I tried the 5 string thing for a while but in the end decided that it gets me "thinking" about what I am playing instead of just playing.
But that Myung does look sick.

i'm glad you like your sterling man! i could never play one of those because of the body. when i had stingray fever a couple of years ago a local shop took in a 5 string sterling and was selling it for 850. i was so tempted to get it, but the body just seemed ridiculously small to me. i ended up with the big bodied stingray and loved the look and feel of that bass, just not the tone.
