a buzzing amp.

hi. i just recently started playing my bass guitar that i bought several years ago. i love playing, but i seem to have a problem with my amplifier. it's an ampeg ba-112. the cord connected to the amp seems to come loose sometimes and creates a very loud distorted buzzing sound. i think the low bass notes make the cord rattle around, because when i hold the cord in place and strike the notes very hard, there is no buzzing. is there any way i can just replace the jack in the amp or something? thanks.

check the cord connections .... if they are loose you can probably tighten them. also check the knobs on your bass. if they are loose they probably are loose in the cavity behind the bass and need to be soldered or glued back in place.

thanks for the reply. the cord is definetely not the culprit, as i have tried other cables. none of the knobs are loose either. thanks.
