A case for every bass

All of my instruments, save two, have hard cases (basses, guitars, mandolins, violin). The two exceptions are the baby grand, and my Precision Lyte, which came used with a good quality bag.

I'm not sure I'm going to get a hard case for the P Lyte. If I were gigging hard and heavy, I would, but I don't anticipate playing out enough to justify the expense.

got 1 ugly, smelly, old, worn hardcase for my 3 basses. Its used for transport purpose only. When not in use they stay ready to grab and play in my 5 instument stand/rack. Before i got the hardcase i used a gigbag, witch i still use when i travel by fot/bus/train.

I think its way eccessive storing them in hardcases, if i dont play the bass atleast a bare mimimum of once a week it gets sold. So i like to keep em all ready to rock.

I never touch cases unless I have a travel gig (very rare) or sell a bass.

I have 7 basses and cases for all of them except my Squier. The cases are all tucked away under my stairs in the basement and never touched. I have a great Levy's double gig bag that I take to every gig/rehersal.

My basses are either hanging on my office wall or on the studio wall. One is usually propped up on a leather chair in the basement or on the couch in my office.

Ha ha. Mine is an '06, and I did verify that a P case would fit in the back seat. Then I did a gig in Austin a year ago, and I had to find room coming back for the bass and the amplifier. If I had had a rider she would have walked.:D

Yes, case for most ALL of them. There are a oddballs that have bags. Those are: cheapo Flying V(case costs more than the bass) & a Greco Flying V(came with the Greco leather(?) bag). Those may fit in a Hondo V case here but they're not played out yet and they don't fall over(hence no need for a hard case).

The manufacturer's case is only bought IF it can be found on eBay for less than $50 delivered OR if it is one that will not fit in a cheapo case(i.e. Epi Thunderbird pro V).

All my basses have HSC.
They are storied in them, easy to stack.
I gig with two custom gig bags.
One is a single, the other a double.
I the either depending how many basses I bring.

My Jackson JS3 Kelly Bird didn't come with a case but got a generic Musician's Gear Molded ABS case for it. I did have to modify the case a little because of the headstock but it wasn't a big deal. Just had to peel the lining back, notch out a section of styrofoam and replace it with a thinner high density foam and a shot of spray adhesive to stick the lining back in place.

Basically this.
I also fit my electric and upright basses in my '08 GT / CS Mustang with ease. Even toted around 2x 4x10s and an SVT for a while. That was a tight fit, but it all went in, and I had room for a single passenger still.
