Since this involves both a bassist and band practice in a roundabout way I thought this was still fitting to be on this here forum instead of OT

The letter

"Q. How Do You Know When You Have Been Assaulted?: Things have been a bit tense in my relationship lately. I take some of the blame since I have been out late a lot more than usual in the past few months with my new hobby. Well, last night I got home (late) and my boyfriend was livid. He said "You know this little hobby of yours has gone too far. Why can't you for once do something for me?" I probably deserved it, but I shot back a sarcastic "Like what?"—at which point he jumped me. Now, I admit I didn't exactly do anything to stop him and I certainly willingly participated, but deep down I didn't really feel like I was comfortably complicit with the whole thing. I left in a huff this morning and we haven't talked about it, but we have symphony tickets tonight and I have this bad feeling I might cause a scene. What should I do?"

Of course you might wonder where the joke is at all if you've never seen this classic video:

I do think they should have mentioned something about her bf not digging her hair or earrings or that she was doing band practice. I always thought this vid didn't make sense a girl like that (oh wasn't she just gorgeous back then) wouldn't date a dbag like this. But then I remembered Aimee Mann is from Boston, where it's probably hard to NOT date a dbag of the sort.

(if you're from Boston I apologize for this lazy rib)

for the record the letter was answered but then readers informed Prudence that it was a joke based on the video.

also just for trivia, this song was actually originally supposed to be about lesbians trying to keep their relationship secret but Mann was encouraged to change her lyrics so it could be made into a single...kinda poopy.

"kinda ******"?

that decision probably paid off her house and is still putting her kids through school or whatever!

anyway yeah, AM is awesome and that was a good gag.
