A Looping Dilemma

So I need some help. The thing is, I like looping, and I like my effects. My amp has an effects loop that I plan to run all my effects through. One problem with that. I want my looper to always be in the signal chain. I considered putting it in before the signal even gets to the amp, but then that raises another issue. I want my effects before my looping, otherwise, when I loop something with effects, then turn off the efects to play clean over it, the loop will be clean as well, since the looper only records my clean signal.

So I'm wondering, would it be possible to put the looper between the amp and my cabinets? Is there any other way? I'd love to hear your ideas.

Thanks.

Why is that inconvenient? If you want looping without fx, just switch the fx off. No big deal.

When I have 3 effects running at the same time, and want the switch to sound seamless, thats when it gets inconvinient. If i dont have this kind of efficiency then alot of the stuff I write with my looping will have similar structure, and not one that i particularly like. If my amp had 2 fx loops, this wouldnt be a problem.

No. The amplified signal is too powerful. The best signal chain is bass > effects>looper>(DI box)>amp

Foreget the fx loop, get a true bypass loop pedal like http://www.tonebone.com/re-bigshot-efx.htm and put all your FX in that, then run the looper after that, and run the looper into the amp.

+1
I use ToneBone's BassBone. My effects and looper go through the loop. If something goes horribly wrong with my effects and/or looper, the "panic button" which bypasses the effect loop is a godsend. Also the build in DI box is great.
