A Movie about Jaco? Why Not?

Well, you only need to print "This movie is about the 19xx nobel prize winner of Mathematics, that invented a theorem that completely changed the world of modern economics" on the sleeve, and people will get interested, there's a media attention value in the nobel prize itself.... and the rest, is far more interesting to most people than "changed the way the world played electric bass" ...

Honestly, I think Johnny Depp would be great. Thinking of his role in Blow, I could envision him with the long hair and headband!

Another guy would be Hugh Jackman.

You'd have to have a huge lead, whoever it is, in order to draw folks to the story.

I can see Johnny Depp as Jaco but Hugh Jackman's frame is too big, IMO. He's a pretty muscular dude and Jaco was a twig. I guess he could do the old Tom Hanks thing and lose a bunch of weight, but not for a Jaco movie.

I know benicio del toro is a big jaco fan, and mentioned him on inside the actors studio, with ma main man james lipton.... and johnny and benicio are friends i do believe having read something about benicio maybe playing a jaco role. of course i forget where i read this, so take it lightly, but sometimes you dont need someone to look the part, so much as play the part. phoenix didnt look too much like cash, and he was great. now jamie foxx he WAS ray. hence the oscar. but the look was only part of it.

Yeah Benicio could become a great Jaco too ..

Now we just need a planet full of bass nerds so the movie could get interesting for the VC guys ...

I always thought that Jaco had a little Tom Hanks in him on the DCI cover.

After a few bad reviews, if you could get him for an indy film.

Hanks + Publicly Unknown Jazz Great = Little gold statue
