Hi, i replaced my black pickup-covers with white ones - an operation that takes two minutes and simple as hell.
However, once i was done, and had the bass connected to the amp - all i heard was a loud bbbrrrrrrrrr.. if i touch the poles - the brrsrrr gets even louder.
If i touch the strings, the buzz fades abit, but there is a very faint sound from the strings beeing played.
What has happened?
I opened it up again, and checked that no wire had come loose.. and all was good.
This is a 1958 re-issue P Bass, and i took a photo of the wiring.
To me, it does not look right.. is there not supposed to be a GND between the tone and the volume pot?
It has been serviced once earlier due to pots making scratch noises and disconnecting. And it did help abit, but the pots have still misbehaved. Have the failed perhaps?
