You really shouldn't try to thrust blame on video games, violent movies, violent tv shows, etc... I shot my first real gun when I was 8, I saw the movie Aliens when I was around 9 or 10, I was playing Grand Theft Auto 3 when I was 11, I was allowed to have an occasional glass of wine at home by the time I was 14, etc... and I turned out fine. Most of my other close friends who were raised similarly all turned out fine, too. Heck, most of us even came from homes with divorced parents who yelled and argued a lot. It's easy to blame violent games and movies, and that's why it happens. Unfortunately, those aren't the things that dictate someone's moral compass. Having a parent remind you to mind your manners, get your work done on time, to not be a slouch, and to shower you with praise when you do well, however, does.
