A question.

Scenario.

You have an amp head.

Runs at 4 ohms minimum.

So, one 4 ohm cab or two 8 ohm cabs.

If one wanted...

Is there an interface or device that will allow you to run two 4 ohm cabs at 2 ohms while making the load 4 ohms at the amp?

A magic box that both cabs could plug into and an connection that always shows the amp 4 ohms.

Probably doesn't exist, but thought I'd ask.

@agedhorse

Perhaps he knows?

There's no "good" solution for this, especially if we're talking over 100W or so. The device would have to be huge and likely have a fan on it.

Your best bet us to have a cab sale and wind up with two 8 ohm cabs for a modular system...one cab for quite gigs and two for louder ones.

That is what it is starting to look like.

Just asking... Thanks for the reply.

You could make yourself a series cable and show the amp 8 ohms.
Yes! I forgot about that! And the doubling of speaker surface area (assuming identical cabs) would more than make up for the difference in wattage output of your amp between 4 and 8 ohm loads.

If you're not savvy enough to make one, you can buy them.
