A seriously Screwed up bass

I had to make a repair on a guy’s collectible Gibson. Someone had put two screws in the headstock where it eventually broke.

Maybe you've been following the "Goodwill Gibson" or not... but check out what kind of repair and cosmetic restoration is possible after a screw-in-neck hack job is discovered: (video cued to the neck repair portion of this restoration)


Watching him unwrap those pickups makes me sweat with anxiety...
 
I ran a music shop back in the 90s. An old guy came in and had fixed his acoustic's neck set issues with a carriage bolt through the fretboard to look like a giant position marker and attached the strap to the other end of the bolt sticking out of the heel.

Sounds like the kinda guy who would go after mosquitoes with a sledgehammer...
