A six string!

What's a good six string for under say... 1500 with a fairly large string spacing? Any ideas?

The John Patitucci signature would be perfect. If you can get used or on ebay the price is usually about 1500.

carvin makes a mean 6 for the price, but the string spacing is fairly tight..i prefer it though.

the peavy 6's ive played also had tight spacing..

so i agree the patitucci yamaha will be exactly what you want. its a really nice sounding instrument, especially for the price

Having owned a wide spaced 6 string for 10+ years, I wish I'd gone medium spacing and don't play it very much now!

I have a Z6 and it is one of the best production 6's out. It has the MTD neck, solid construction, and a nice modern tone. I upgraded mine with US Bart pickups and an Aggie OBP-3 and I will put this bass up against some very nice basses. One of the main reasons I love this bass is beacuse of the string spacing(18mm).

If you can locate a used Yamaha TRB 6 that might be your best option ... excellent basses with 19mm spacing.

I prefer the Brice Z6's personally, not at all expensive and also 19mm, but 35" scale ....
